Writing Prompts for Kids! First Grade Writing Made Easy!

Have you ever been frustrated with your classroom writing? Following a curriculum, finding new and exciting writing prompts for kids to change it up, differentiating your writing activities for different learners, and everything else can make for some stressful lesson planning!

Let me help! I have spent significant time perfecting my writing templates for the classroom. Easy-to-follow writing prompts and activities will help your classroom’s (and your) confidence soar!

Simple to Teach Writing Prompts

I have recently finished a bundle of six “How to” Sequence Writing Projects for Kids. I would use these in first grade or second grade. “How to” writing activities are perfect to use year-round, for a sequence or narrative writing unit, or for an independent writing center! With a bundle, you can teach one or two of these projects whole group, and then set the rest of them up as a writing station for your students.

Each project comes with plenty of writing templates that are easy to follow and easy to differentiate for student needs. Students will love the food-themed sequence writing projects!

Never feel unprepared for a writing lesson again! My projects are thorough and include everything you need for the full writing process. Crafts and flip books are included as well! I have also included two options for how many steps you want students to write. Choose between “First, Next, Then, and Last” and “First, Next, and Last.” Choose whichever works best for your students!

Crafts are my favorite! My first grade students would work so hard on their writing Monday-Thursday, and we would spend Friday sharing with the class and decorating a cute craft. I would hang their writing and their crafts in the hallway for an adorable display!
