My Favorite First Grade Math Station

Do you ever feel like you are running out of creative ideas when planning your first grade math stations? I want to help with this freebie!

I LOVED planning math. It was the one subject that I felt a lot of freedom in, but coming up with new math stations to put out at centers could feel overwhelming. I wanted to have math centers that reviewed the standards I had taught, but didn’t need me to use 15 minutes of our math rotation time going over directions. Time was precious! I also did not want to answer the question “What do I do with this center?” over and over again. Enter my FAVORITE First Grade Math Station: Number Bump!

Number Bump: Great for First Grade Math Rotations

Number Bump became a hit in my first grade classroom. It’s a fantastic way for students to review their addition facts (my students always needed extra practice). Students play this game with a partner. Each partner takes turns rolling 2 dice and adding the numbers together. Using a counter or a block, the student will then cover the answer on the game board. If their partner has already covered that number, they get to “bump” them off! Essentially, this game never ends! The learning (and the fun) go on and on in this first grade math station!
